L. Ivimy Gwalter, C.S.B. served as an Associate Editor of the Christian Science periodicals prior to becoming a member of The Christian Science Board of Directors in 1948.
Miss Gwalter was a native of New York, where her mother Lucy L. Gwalter, C.S.B. practiced and taught Christian Science.
After graduating from high school, Miss Gwalter spent a year in Geneva studying languages. Upon her return to the United States she studied at the Musical Art Institute in New York City. She graduated in 1913.
She received Primary Class Instruction from her mother in 1910, and upon her graduation from university she devoted her time and thought to entering the public practice of Christian Science. She became Journal-listed in 1922.
In 1940, Miss Gwalter was a member of the Normal Class of the Board of Education and became an authorized Christian Science teacher.
